Doctor Sam Beckett led a group of top scientists into the desert to research his theory that a man could time travel within his own lifetime. Unfortunately, in order to save his funding, he was forced to enter the accelerator prematurely and vanished. He then found himself in someone else's body with partial amnesia. His only contact from home is Al, a holographic image only he can see and hear. I think I caught most of the episodes on USA or some other cable channel. The premise of the show was that this guy randomly leaps from person to person throughout time. He basically is himself, but every person around him sees him as the person he has leaped into. The show was okay, was not a super fan, but I liked certain episodes a lot. Hated a couple too, it just really depended on where he was or what he had to do as he always seemed to have an objective in the time he went to. The show would try to get a bit cute near the end of its run as they introduced an enemy leaper and then the show would end with a very depressing final show that basically said Sam never got back home again. Did not care for that at all and the implications and such. Still, for most of the show it was funny and suspenseful watching him try to figure out what to do to find out what he had to do to make things right with the person that he was within. Scott Bakula did a good job in the lead role and Dean Stockwell was also good as a kind of guide for Sam as he was the one that tried to figure out what needed to be done in the time periods. Interesting show, that I thought was on a bit longer than it was. I am many things A trekkie, a lego fan, a computer whiz, and now i am a leaper (a fan of Quantum Leap). When I first saw it coming on after Star Trek on the Sci-Fi channel, I would just turn the channel, but one day nothing else good was on, so I watched Quantum Leap, and I got hooked on it, and I have missed only a few episodes so far. I love the show and I do not understand why NBC did what it did to the show. I am thinking about making a Star Trek-Quantum Leap crossover fanfic.
